Broolynella is always a strong possibility when dealing with clownfishes. That is why quarantine is so important.

Formalin baths are the most effective treatment. Add 0.125 to 0.250 ml of a 37% formalin solution to 1 liter of saltwater. Aerate strongly. Then add the fish and keep it there for 30-60 minutes. You may have to repeat this procedure two more times, but allow the fish a day of rest in between each treatment.

Copper is ineffective against Brooklynella. Freshwater dips maybe somewhat helpful, but I really prefer formalin.

thanks a lor steven.

I would just go with the lower dosage then, 0.125 ml/liter.

Don't forget to aerate the water, though. Formalin removes oxygen, so add the formalin first, aerate for 15 minutes, then add the fish, and maintain the aeration throughout.

hi steven, just one more question.
If today i put 5 ml on my 40 lts of water and keep the clown for 30 minutes, i have to put again 5 ml of formalin tomorrow? and after tomorrow?
or only with this dosage one time?
thanks a lot

I want to be clear. The formalin procedure needs to be done as a short term bath in a bucket or something, not in the aquarium. And each time it is performed, I would prepare a fresh solution.

I am glad your clownfish is doing better. And don't worry about your English. It is much better than my Spanish. All I know are the few words I have picked up from watching Dora the Explorer, a bilingual cartoon, with my 3 year old daughter.
